Early alpha/beta releases will be made available through iFreeDating.com for those wishing to take a pre-release test run before it goes to market. By far the biggest and what generates the most internet traffic is porn. No surprises here. It appeals to our most basic need, to reproduce. We cant help it. We feel hungry, we need to eat. Here I thought is an area that would, by default, ensure some level of interest and appeal to both sexes, cross all borders and professions. Basically everyone. It wasn't too long before I had some basic functionality resembling a dating website and decided that I needed a more descriptive website name, Goobang doesn't relay anything about the subject matter. If its not obvious to the visitor it certainly wont be obvious to a search engine. The difficulty here is coming up with something unique and that still exists as a domain name. How lucky was I in securing a domain name that was short and descriptive, IFREEDATING.COM! Not only does this tell you instantly what the site is all about but it also contains key search words that people using search engines such as Google would use when searching for dating websites. Having a good domain name is just part ofthe battle when you are looking at how to get good google rankings. You also need relevant content containing keywords that are likely to appear in peoples search queries. One good thing about creating a free dating website like ifreedating is that it is user driven, in other words the content is provided by and generated by the users. I can just sit back, relatively speaking, and watch the website grow. The hope is that by careful design and using the best search engine optimization techniques, or SEO techniques, to promote the website it will achieve decent Google rankings which in turn will drive visitors to my site. IFreedating was in rapid development and its membership growing daily with men and women deciding to sign up for free dating. More and more of my time was being taken up by the site and so it was about time it started to pay for itself. If you want to make money from a website one of the simplest things you can do is sign up for Google Adsense. Using Google adsense to make money is easy to do and with a little know how you will learn quickly on how to make money with google adsense. I've already touched on most of these centering around SEO. After all, no matter how good your website looks, no one is going to click those ads unless you now how to drive traffic to your website. ifreedating started as Goobang back in Feb 2006. The original inspiration for making a dating website was initially as a means to further develop my web and java development skills, a place to try out new technologies and to showcase my developer/design skills. These four key ingredients ensure our survival. Food gives us energy and strength enabling us to compete and hopefully win and succeed giving us power and success (money and position) which ensures us a good mate to pass on our genes ensuring our own personal survival through our offspring. This, ladies and gentlemen is meaning of life. Its not 42, its simply our selfish need to ensure our own survival. It is the very reason why religion came about. We cannot bare the thought that we will one day cease to be so religion created an afterlife. Churches control millions of people and billions of dollars world wide by using our fear of death by offering us salvation from the fear of non-existence. But I digress somewhat. How do the four basic human desires listed above translate into web topics. Very simply.

Porn (many categories of greater and lessor degrees)

Dieting, basically self image so we could include cosmetics and medicines under this category

Making easy money, e.g. gambling, get rich schemes etc. Money equals power and position.

Online gaming. A recreational pursuit but also a means of displaying your strength against an opponent.

Why Do Bad Guys Get The Best Girls?

If we are to believe the movies, the ruthless tough guy always gets the girl. And didn't it seem that the bad boys at school always had the hottest babes? The best looking girls always seem to love the bad guys. Maybe because the best looking guys always became the bad guys? Everywhere we tend to see bad guys and nice girls. We see fools and meatheads with the girls of our fantasies. In the mall we see our flaxen haired goddesses with America's Most Wanted. Is it nature at work, is it us, what has gone awry?

Men are confused. We like to refer to stereotypes and work from them. Men are told that we need to be a hero and a tough guy. But then we are told we need to be in touch with our sensitive sides. Meanwhile the man down the street who treats his girlfriends like crap, never calls, is rude and disrespect appears to have a fan club developing. Life, my friends, can seem unfair. But let's look at what is going on with this scenario.

Interest. Bad guys are interesting, they do interesting things. They have strayed from the straight-and-narrow and have developed their own code of conduct. They do what they want. They go where they want. They answer to no one. They are, in other words, fascinating. Tow the line, do as you are told and inevitably you will be become dull. Mavericks are interesting, straight guys are not.

Bad guys are confident and self assured. They know what they're about and don't really care what others think. They are their own men and don't need others to prop them up. Bad guys don't have to be in shape, just look at James Galdofini from The Sopranos, who is immensely attractive despite his rotund appearance. Some can become almost caricaturesof themselves, but that doesn't make them any less attractive.

Plus bad guys are a challenge. We all love a challenge, and women may love a challenge even more than the boys. If something is a challenge, the end results must surely be worthwhile, right? The girls who go after bad guys want to find the pot of gold at the end of crazy rainbow. They will go to great lengths to solve their mysteries. And once they have them, once they've conquered the challenge, they don't want to let go. Plus it makes for an exciting rollercoaster ride because the bad guy could walk away at any moment. The greater the danger of loosing a bad guy, the greater the effort they'll put forth to keep them. And there may be a lesson there.

What do we have if we combine these facets? Power, strength of character, confidence, a maverick nature and an immensely interesting personality equals sexiness. That is exactly what the bad boy is, so it's no surprise that this type of guy often get the gal. It doesn't mean to say that we like them, and it doesn't mean it is fair or even a good thing, but raw attraction can be nature's way.

I am not in any way suggesting that we should all be Mr. Bad Guy. Not at all. What I am saying is that there are lessons to be learned here. What is attractive can be modified and added to our arsenal of dating weaponry. How you perceive yourself that matters the most. If you can increase your self confidence levels, get your career on the right tracks, excel in what you do and be your own man within the confines of your working life, then you'll get that bad boy confidence. And that attitude will boost your attractiveness. You don't need to go around being bad, but you can be a bit more deliberate in your actions, a little less available and a little more enigmatic. This will boost your interest factor and again help in your attractiveness.

The modern dating game is highly complex and courting rituals can be a minefield. Go back to basics, analyze what is it that you think potential partners would like and think about how can you match of yourself to those qualities. Changing just a few small things could make the world of difference.

New Features

Ok, so its been a while but things have not stopped going forward. Recently we introduced 'comments' allowing any user/viewer to comment on a profile. Of course, any profile can turn this feature off if they so wish.
Secondly, all profiles have to the option to display their Twitter status. I'm sure you've heard of the micro-blog Twitter, well now you can add your Twitter updates to your profile for all visitors to see.
And lastly, we've introduced chat, a proper chat client. So far two rooms are available, general chat and an adults only chat. All are welcome but if your are not logged into your profile you will be known simply as 'anonymous', so get yourself a profile (its free naturally) and start chatting to in our new community.

The most recent addition to the http://www.ifreedating.com website is a feature which allows visitors to add comments to a profile they are viewing. No need to be logged on as a user, just post your comment freely regarding the profile in view. Profile owners are able to delete unwanted comments and comment posters are able to remove comments they have added so long as they posted the comment as a logged in user. All comments are censored of course
