ifreedating started as Goobang back in Feb 2006. The original inspiration for making a dating website was initially as a means to further develop my web and java development skills, a place to try out new technologies and to showcase my developer/design skills. But why create a free dating website? Well, I wanted to create a site that would test my code and design thoroughly which meant creating a site that would attract a lot of visitors which inturn meant the site had to provide content that appealed to the majority, men, women, young and old. But what? What appeals to 99% of web surfers. Its going to be what appeals to us as human beings the most. What are the things, as humans we cannot help but act upon? Our natural urges, a means to our survival. I narrowed this down to four categories.
These four key ingredients ensure our survival. Food gives us energy and strength enabling us to compete and hopefully win and succeed giving us power and success (money and position) which ensures us a good mate to pass on our genes ensuring our own personal survival through our offspring. This, ladies and gentlemen is meaning of life. Its not 42, its simply our selfish need to ensure our own survival. It is the very reason why religion came about. We cannot bare the thought that we will one day cease to be so religion created an afterlife. Churches control millions of people and billions of dollars world wide by using our fear of death by offering us salvation from the fear of non-existence. But I digress somewhat. How do the four basic human desires listed above translate into web topics. Very simply.
